Football Weekly: “Inter is Zlataned”, Merseyside Derby Sets a Draw

 

Last week was a derby week. Milan derby, Merseyside derby.

Football Weekly: Premier League

Everton and Liverpool set a draw in the Merseyside derby. Sadio Mané scores, Michael Keane answers, Mohamed Salah scores, Dominic Calvert-Lewin answers. In the end teams set a 2-2 draw. Yet,  Liverpool set twice more shots: 22 and only 11 for Everton.

In the other Premier League match Manchester City set a 1-0 victory over Arsenal with the goal of Raheem Sterling at 23 minute. After the match, Man City manager Pep Guardiola mentioned: “We knew it would be a tight game, a difficult one,” yet “It was an important victory.”

In the other match, Manchester United won Newcastle with goals of Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford, Tottenham played a 3-3 draw with West Ham.

Football Weekly: Serie A

In just 3 minutes, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided the result of the match, scoring twice against his former club. As a result, Milan set a 2-1 victory over Inter. After this match, Milan are the leader of the Serie A with 4 victories in 4 matches.

After the match, Ibrahimovic to Sky: “This was a very important match. AC Milan hadn’t won the derby for 4 years. I was locked at home for two weeks. I was so hungry and today I proved it with two goals. I’m disappointed with the penalty, but the important thing is the win. The adventure continues.”

In the other match, Napoli set a 4-1 victory over Atalanta (goals by Hirving Lozano (2), Matteo Politano and Victor Osimhen), Juventus couldn’t win Crotone (1-1) without Cristiano Ronaldo, Lazio lost to Sampdoria (3-0).

Football Weekly: La Liga

Here Atletico Madrid set a 2-0 victory over Celta Vigo with goals of Luis Suárez and Yannick Carrasco. However, the matchday saw some surprises, as Real Madrid lost to Cadiz in Santiago Bernabéu (1-0), and Barcelona lost to Getafe and again 1-0.

In another match, Villarreal set a 2-1 victory over Valencia.
