The FIFA World Cup 2022 final match is scheduled to be played at the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail, Qatar.
Lusail Iconic Stadium
Lusail Iconic Stadium is located about 15 kilometers north of the city center. Overall, 10 World Cup 2022 matches will be held at this stadium, six of which are group stage, three knockout matches, and the final match, of course.
This stadium is designed by British firm Foster + Partners and Populous. It’s built as part of Qatar’s winning bid for the World Cup. The construction started in April 2017 and the final stadium was ready a year ago, in 2021.
World Cup 2022 Final Match Rules
Here are the World Cup 2022 final match rules. It’ll last 90 minutes and teams will play 30 minutes of extra time, if teams play a draw in 90 minutes. After that, if the score still is equal, teams will score penalties.
Each team of the World Cup 2022 final match is required to have a maximum of 12 named substitutes and, during the match, can make 3 substitutions, with a 4th opportunity in extra time.
